The «Pysanka - 2013» festival

The VIIth Ukrainian festival "Pysanka 2013" will take place in Kolomyia on the 11-12th of May.

The masters of painted Easter egges not only from Ukraine but also from abroad will be in Kolomyia in the "Pysanka - 2013" festival. The main feasts are going to be held on the square before the one in the world Pysanka Museum in Kolomyia.

The festival programme includes folk-ethnographic deeds of the Christian-Easter and the calendar-ritual contents, in particular: Easter Plays, hayivky, vesnyanky, plays adapted for the stage and choreographic compositions, thematic songs creation.

All the participants will be dressed in the national costumes, typical for the regions which they represent. 

Within "Pysanka2013" festival a trade exhibition of different arts and crafts types will be held. These are: wicker-braiding, embroidery, weaving, potter and carpet making, carving, cooperage, national clothes, artistic doods of leather, beads, cheese etc. Masterclasses of arts and crafts different types and the Pysanka painting contests will be held. 

The Ivano-Frankivsk region state administration culture management, the main education and science management, borough council in Kolomyia are the founders and organizers of the festival.

The aim and the tasks of "The Pysanka" Festival are: saving and multiplying of the national traditions of the Pysanka painting art, popularization of the technique and schools, creative styles and methods, supporting of the gifted children and youth; popularization of Pysanka as the national symbol of the Easter Christian deeds, acquaintance with the Pysanka painting  tradition in different regions in Ukraine, Europe and World.
